Click the ââŠâ button next ot flowsheet just under the results row of tabs at the top
Navigator
Next to the list of Results thereâs a contents panel called Navigator with all the categories, e.g. Blood Gases or Coagulation Studies; very useful to jump between Results
Tear off
Whatever page you need to refer to (mostly Results), click âTear Offâ next to âChange Userâ and that screen will âtear offâ into another window
Re-size so you can read your Progress notes and Results windows simultaneously
Patient care results
Includes data such as:
Weights
Observations (under vital signs): easier to copy numbers from here into your notes
All nurse inputted data including alcohol withdrawal scale, blood sugar levels, ketones, urine output, stool chart, neuro observations, drains/stoma/other outputs, GCS, UAs
Inputs and outputs and other nurse inputted data not under patient care results could be under the following:
I-view: anything with a tick next to it means data are present
For most input/ output data, go right to the bottom of Contents to the âInput and Outputâ tab and itâll expand a new set of Contents and show all Input/Output data, e.g. IV fuids received, stool chart, urine output, etc
BTF observation chart: mostly obs and trends but sometimes weight and UA
Advanced graphing
- Useful for visual people as it graphs daily input and output so you can see graphically if balance is achieved and the proportions of each contributor, e.g. what volume was IV fluids, how much was PO intake, how much was urine output, how much was drain output
- Also available under I-View under the âInput and Outputâ tab
Trends
You can graph your Results, and even against each other. Check the box next to the Result you want to graph (check multiple if you like), then click the âGraphâ button on the top lef (next to the green magnifying glass) and you get graphs for each Result to see the trend over time
Extra Info
If you right click a given Result, you can get extra information about it, including âOrder informationâ. Choose the relevant button, e.g. âView Order Infoâ or âView Detailsâ or âView Commentsâ. Tings like who/when/ where the Investigation was Ordered is ofen found here
The Eye
Click the Eye, i.e. âBookmarkâ, top lef, next to the green magnifying glass to have âviewedâ the Results. Probably best do this under âAll Resultsâ tab
Now you get instant updates if new Results (especially ones youâve been waiting for) have come
In your normal List, thereâs one column with a clipboard in it. If thereâs none, this implies that there are no new Results. As soon as a new Result comes, it reappears (when you hit âRefreshâ in the top-right corner)
Te main limitation is that you canât filter the type of Result the clipboard appears for, i.e. all new Results including a new Nursing note or a new BSL will activate it. However, it is still potentially useful, but requires daily maintenance
You can also achieve the same effect by clicking the âclipboardâ in the List, which will bring up a new window of all the unread Results. You can click the âEyeâ then. However, this window is often slow if there are lots of Results (e.g. with newly Admitted patients), so do this in the âResultsâ section, then you can do it from the clipboard thereafter
Seeker
Only for when you are familiar where everything is
You can click the âseekerâ, which will bring up a mini-map/aerial view of that tab, with blue/pink bars for all the normal/deranged Results. Simply click where you know your Result will be and âseekerâ will instantly take you there
