- For analgesia:
- 0.25 mg/kg IV or 5-10 mg IV boluses titrated to effect
- For procedural sedation
- 0.5-1mg/kg IV
- Consider adding ondansetron for dissociative procedural sedation in whom emesis could be harmful (e.g. spinal precautions, traumatic brain injury, ocular injury, penetrating abdominal injury)
- For delayed sequence induction
- 1mg/kg IV or 1-3mg/kg IM
Dose reduce with comorbidities
Dose reduce for:
- Patients with shock significant haemodynamic compromise
- Hepatic impairment
- Frailty or advanced age
