Angiogram Views

  • Angiogram views can be split into LAO, AP or RAO and then cranial or caudal
    • LAO or RAO refers to rotation around the vertical access
      • LAO refers camera positioned to the patient’s left (i.e. vertebral bodies will appear to the left of the image and the angiogram catheter will also be on the left side)
      • Oblong shape = RAO, ball shape = LAO
    • Cranial or caudal refers to rotation around the horizontal access
      • Cranial refers to looking down at the heart from the head end
