
Angiogram Views
- Angiogram views can be split into LAO, AP or RAO and then cranial or caudal
- LAO or RAO refers to rotation around the vertical access
- LAO refers camera positioned to the patient’s left (i.e. vertebral bodies will appear to the left of the image and the angiogram catheter will also be on the left side)
- Oblong shape = RAO, ball shape = LAO
- Cranial or caudal refers to rotation around the horizontal access
- Cranial refers to looking down at the heart from the head end
- LAO or RAO refers to rotation around the vertical access
